It tracks cutting-tool inventory by cabinet and bin, gives your machinists a badge-in kiosk on the shop floor, and turns low stock into supplier purchase orders in one click.

It is built for machine shops, CNC job shops, and manufacturing plants that want real control over tooling spend without paying a monthly fee for a separate system. As a result, your tool crib, purchasing and usage reports all live in one place you already own.

A live dashboard for your tool crib software

The Tool Crib Dashboard shows active items, inventory value, bins to reorder, open POs, tool spend for the last 30 days and gages coming due. In addition, it lists your top items by spend and a running log of every issue, return, receipt and cycle count.

Cabinets and bins, every drawer at a glance

• Lay out cabinets by drawer, column and row with on-hand, min and max for every bin
• Generate bins for a whole cabinet in one step, for example drawers 01-08, columns A-F and rows 01-10
• A color-coded Cabinet View shows in-stock, at or below min, out and empty bins at a glance
• Track each item’s ID, manufacturer part, supplier and supplier part number, category, type, unit price, MOQ, barcode, image and full history

Shop-floor kiosk: badge in, scan, take tools

Drop the [toolcrib_kiosk] shortcode on a page and open it on a tablet next to your cabinets. Then employees sign in with a badge and PIN, search or scan tools, and take or return them.

• Every transaction records who took what, on which machine and for which job
• Your own reporting fields, such as Job # or Work Order, are captured on each issue
• Auto sign-out after inactivity, plus an optional full-screen mode
• Access control lets you restrict employees to certain categories with optional daily quantity limits

Reorder and purchasing so you never run out

• The Reorder List shows every bin at or below min with a suggested quantity that refills to max, minus what is already on order, rounded up to the supplier MOQ
• One click creates draft purchase orders grouped by supplier
• Email POs to suppliers or print and save them as PDF
• Track POs from draft to ordered, partially received and received, then receive straight back into bins
• An optional daily reorder alert email keeps purchasing on top of low stock

Gaging, reports and CSV import

• Gage calibration tracking with intervals, last and next due dates, and a due-soon report
• Reports for usage by item, employee, station or reporting field, plus inventory valuation, the transaction log, the reorder list and gages due. Every report exports to CSV
• Import and export CSV for items with bin placement, suppliers and employees, so you can move over from a spreadsheet or your current tool crib software

Set up your tool crib software in an afternoon

First, import your items or generate a cabinet and assign each bin. Next, add employees with badge numbers and PINs, then add your stations and machines. Finally, place the kiosk on a private page and open it on the shop tablet. Staff who are not administrators can run the crib with the included Tool Crib Manager role.

Tool Crib Manager handles inventory and transactions. However, it does not unlock physical vending machines or locking cabinets. Deactivating the plugin keeps all of your data, and kiosk sign-ins are token-based and rate-limited.
