BoundSentry is a Windows desktop application that keeps your Federal Firearms License acquisition and disposition (A&D) records — your bound book — together with inventory, manufacturing and compliance tools in one place. It runs entirely on your own PC: no subscription, no cloud server, and no internet connection needed for day-to-day use.

Built for dealers, pawnbrokers, gunsmiths and Type 07 manufacturers.

Automatic Off-Site Backups to Google Drive or Dropbox

Your bound book is too important to live on one computer. BoundSentry can back up your books automatically every day to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, a USB drive or a network folder — so a failed hard drive, theft or fire doesn’t take your A&D records with it.

• Set it and forget it — backs up shortly after the first sign-in each day, retries every hour it stays open if the day’s backup hasn’t run, and again when BoundSentry closes
• Off-site by design — point it at your Google Drive or Dropbox folder and every backup syncs to the cloud on its own
• AES-256 encrypted with your own backup password before the file ever leaves your computer, so customer names and addresses stay private
• Keeps a rolling history — choose how many backups to keep (30 by default); older ones are cleaned up automatically
• Alerts you if a backup fails — a high-priority item appears on the dashboard if the backup folder can’t be reached, and you’re reminded if no backup has run in 7 days
• Verified restores — each backup carries a SHA-256 fingerprint that’s checked before restoring, and a safety copy of your current data is saved first

Complete A&D Record Keeping

• Records every acquisition and disposition with the fields your license type requires, and checks each entry for missing information before it is saved
• Saved entries can never be deleted or silently changed — every correction keeps the original value, who changed it, when and why
• Voided entries stay in the book and print struck through
• Attach invoices, transferor FFL copies, shipping records and other documents directly to a record (SHA-256 fingerprinted)

Physical Inventory

Electronic Transfers Between Licensees

Send firearm descriptions to another BoundSentry licensee as a digitally signed transfer file or through an end-to-end encrypted transfer network. The receiving dealer gets every entry pre-filled and confirms each firearm when it arrives — no retyping serial numbers.

Multi-User with Roles

Admin, Manager, Clerk and Inspector roles, each user signing in with their own account so every entry is attributed to the right person. Personal password recovery keys let users reset a forgotten password offline.

Your Data Stays Local

All records are stored in a single database on your own computer — no subscription server holding your data. One-click manual backups to a USB drive or network folder are also available anytime.
